"Historical romance master Kleypas reintroduces Cam Rohan, the wealthy half-Gypsy first seen in 2006's Devil in Winter, in her latest page-turning Victorian. Rohan, manager of a London gentleman's club, decides to do a favor for the distraught Amelia Hathaway, who is scouring brothels in search of her wastrel brother, Leo. Rohan, weary of his usual diet of beautiful-but-boring lovers, is bemused by and attracted to Amelia, a staid and proper spinster, and so he sets about making a presence of himself at the ramshackle Hathaway estate, sowing sexual tension as he does. As the standoffish relationship between Rohan and Amelia evolves into romance, the reappearance of Amelia's former suitor throws an intriguing wrench in the works. The author's sensitivity to the prejudice endured by the Roma (Gypsies) adds a measure of grim reality that is creatively offset by Rohan's discussion of Roma beliefs and superstitions. Kleypas's effortless style makes for another sexy exploration of 19th-century passion and peccadilloes, riveting from start to finish." (Oct)

Romantic Times Review for Mine Till Midnight
"Here's vintage Kleypas: an unforgettable story peopled with remarkable characters and a depth of emotion that will leave you breathless with the wonderment of knowing what falling in love is really like. "
Summary: When Amelia Hathaway's brother disappears into the gambling hells and brothels of London she turns to half-Gypsy club owner Cam Rohan (from The Devil in Winter) to find him.
Afterward, Amelia takes her family to their newly inherited country house. Surprisingly Cam is visiting their neighbor and his interest in Amelia leads him to continually call at their home. Though the family seems eccentric, Cam is utterly enchanted and begins wooing Amelia with gentleness, hoping to bring out her spirit of adventure. His care for her emotional and physical well-being combined with his help in dealing with a bee problem and restoring the ramshackle estate endears him to Amelia and her sisters. However, it is his promise to sweep her away at midnight into a sensual world where she is cherished and carefree that enables her to allow Cam deep into her heart and her family. Somehow Cam heals the family's wounds and when an ex-suitor starts snooping around hunting a priceless treasure, he is there to save them. (St. Martin's, Oct., 384 pp., $7.99) HOT
